Job Overview

Schedule: 36 hours weekly, 7 PM to 7AM. Type: In Person.  

The Child Unit is a 20 bed unit for the multi-disciplinary assessment, evaluation, crisis intervention, and stabilization of patients age 5-12 years.   Discharge planning emphasizes movement to day hospital or outpatient care as soon as the crisis has been stabilized. 

What to expect.

  • Perform a full range of professional psychiatric nursing services, including assessing, planning, administering, and evaluating patient care in accordance with team treatment plans.
  • Administer medical treatment as prescribed by physician.
  • Teach and provide psychosocial support to patients and their families.
  • Provide day-to-day clinical direction to assigned Mental Health Workers or other paraprofessional staff.
  • Document and report patient progress to treatment team.

The pay range for this position is $37.08 minimum to $56.83 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, years and level of related experience as a registered nurse.  

What we need from you.

  • Must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Maryland (or compact state) at time of appointment and continuously while in position.
  • Experience in a psychiatric nursing setting preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing-acquired through at least one year of inpatient RN experience; prior LPN inpatient experience will be considered with every one year of LPN experience equating to 6 months RN experience. 
  • All new clinical staff will begin their extended clinical orientation/training immediately following your first day of employment. 
  • AHA CPR required before first day of employment
